Has anyone found anywhere that sells de-icer for car windscreens here (Canberra or anywhere in Oz?)...

Halfords UK sells tonnes of it but I can't find the slightest mention of it here...

Thanks :)

Am I right in thinking a bit of salt in warm water will do the trick?

Will bring supplies for Melbourne!!

Thanks guys... yeah i was confronted by the same comment from my Canberran partner ;)

I thought someone from home might have found it somewhere since its such an obvious thing to have in the car! Presumably Canberra is the only metro area that gets serious frosts so no-one saw the point of inventing it here.... :)

You can mix just a drop or 2 of washing up liquid with water and add a bottle of rubbing alochol to it (you can buy rubbing alcohol in a chemist) Use between 50% & 70% of rubbing alcohol. You can also add the rubbing alcohol to windshield washer fluid.

Wow,

Karen where did you get that info from? Sounds like something off of Kim and Aggie on how clean is your home(the tv programme). Tell you what girl next time I get a household problem like red wine stains in the carpet or chewing gum. I'll DEFINATELY KNOW WHO TO CALL! NICE ONE!!!
